Last night with all that is going on in the world that is so sad and unsettling, I started crying because I said to my partner that at 64 tomorrow, I’m wondering where God is.
I felt that same thing in the 1994 Rwanda war, the Middle East sadnesses my whole life and Bosnia and Ukraine and all over our beautiful world where people have forgotten to concentrate on what unites them than on what divides them.
We are all struggling with different challenges: no jobs or power or water outages and safety issues, health problems and worries about our beloved family members and mates.
I found your lovely message of Love just as I needed to find it today.
Let’s be kind first and respect each and everyone as you wrote so eruditely in your post.
Carol Ann, thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt response. I agree-a lot is going on in this world right now, but God's love will overcome evil. May His kingdom come 💜 I pray God holds you close as you grieve and intercede.
He is all I have been able to believe in since a little girl so this question has made me feel discombobulated and uncomfortable, Liz. Thank you for your kind words and your strength.
My partner went out for a couple of hours and I was able to play Earth Wind and Fire at epic level lol🛐💙💜
I'm with you 💞 amen 🙏🏻 love is our highest honour and power that God has given us to know and then spread. I also love how you touched on knowing your emotions to truly encapsulate love in all its capacity.
This was such a beautiful reminder, Liz. 🌿 The part about loving others while quietly rejecting ourselves really stood out to me. It made me pause and reflect on how important it is to let God’s love fully sink in so we can see ourselves the way He does.
Thank you for the gentle nudge back to that first love with Jesus—where everything feels alive again.
Thank you for your words. I too think our emotions are gifts-doorways to intimacy with the Father. I appreciate another soul who talks about that 3rd part of the command “love thy neighbor as thy self”. Self hatred was a huge stumbling block in my 20s and 30s. There are times I still catch myself with that negative self talk. But when I take it to the Father I see his love for even that part of me and it makes me love Him ALL the more! 💗💗
Liz, I so needed these beautiful words today.
